If you are an aspiring model (or actor, entertainer, or just want to have fun)
and would like to have some pictures produced
without going to the expense of hiring a photographer, please get in touch.
I can help you to create comp cards or albums for promoting yourself. You will be awarded
with copies of pictures and they are yours to keep.
For me, the purpose of this ongoing activity is to improve my skill and hopefully
to produce good quality photographs that can be included in my portfolio or
submitted to photography competitions (with model's permission). I have no commercial use of the pictures now and I think it will stay
that way. However, a limited model release needs to be signed by the model to protect both the model and the photographer.
I also hope that I can find a good model that communicates well and understands
the image I am trying to create so I can constantly work with the same
person.
Also, if you are simply looking for tasteful prints for yourself, I can
work with you to produce personal images for you. A number of people have
approached me after seeing my work, and asked me to shoot some tasteful,
romantic nudes of them for someone special in their life. These images are kept
entirely private for you. If you would like to discuss this opportunity, please drop
me an email. There is no obligation and I assure you confidentiality.
Black and White is my preferred choice for fine art presentation although I also shoot color. There may or may not be a degree of artistic nudity involved, as not all of my work is nudes. For fine art nudes, a lot of the pictures will only show part of the model's body, mostly curves. Low-key (mostly black) approach will probably be used most of time. The model's face does not necessarily play a very important role in this type of images, in fact, many of them may not even show the face at all. Having said that, I don't mean makeup is totally not necessary because I may also decide to take some glamour type pictures or head shots.
Most of the shooting is done in a studio shooting area and lasts for 3 hours.
The session is never rushed or hectic. I am a slow shooter because I believe it is the quality of the
work that matters. To produce high quality images, good preparation both on model and photographer is a must.
This means before the session we need to communicate with each other to determine the image style, film formats,
makeups and props.
Also, your comfort and trust is critically important to me as an artist. I can only capture the images
I seek if you are comfortable in your role as partner in making the images. I rely on you to communicate
ideas, suggestions, questions and concerns to me. I prefer to have ongoing working relationships with
my models so that we can continue to explore figure images and emerging themes together as we get to
know each other?s styles, skills and goals.
Compensation is based upon the individual situation. I sometimes work with professional models through agencies, but prefer to work with novices or those who want to experiment in this art. If you are interested in modeling we can discuss modeling fees as well as print availability afterwards. To ensure quality, I make most of the B&W prints (up to 16" X 20") myself in my own darkroom. Mat boards cut to match the prints are also available. Most of my subjects have wanted prints and enlargements of their images for their personal use.
Most importantly, be prepared to have fun, create, build on new ideas and grow. Lastly, I do not work with models who are intoxicated or under the effect of any illegal substances.
My studio is located in DFW Metropolitan area (Rowlett), 15 minutes from I-635, US75 (Central), or I-30. Sometimes I also use the CCCC (Collin County Community College) Studio in its Spring Creek campus. My email address: [email protected]
